I am the head track coach at Bountiful High School in Utah.  I decided in November to implement the CFFB program in my conditioning and see the effect it had on my upcoming season, which had promise but needed some serious development.  It did not take long for the athletes in my program to believe in the system and wish for more every day.  I had kids in the weight room every day after school killing themselves just to win a few seconds or push a few more pounds.  We started seeing results almost instantly.  Good athletes were becoming great athletes.  Bigger, faster, and stronger!  It was insane.  We came into our track season in the best shape we have ever been since I have been a coach here.

As the season came it was apparent that we were a force to be reckoned with.  Meets came and went and we walked away with people asking us where all of our speed came from.  Our throwers were popping PR’s weekly.

We ended up dominating our region championships scoring 200+ points to the next closest of 129.  We swept the sprints with 1sts and 2nd in every sprint and relay.  Our speed was undeniable.  Our top field events were all at least 2 people in the top five with a couple 1st and 2nd in the shot, disc, and Javelin.  It was a culmination of hard work, dedication and belief in a program.

The CFFB program John and his crew have put together has been one of the greatest programs I have been around.  It lives up to its philosophy of making an athlete a true power athlete.  Speed and Strength.  I will now be implementing the program with my football program.  Most of my returning football team were track athletes so we will hit the programming full stride and see what limits we can push and break through.  More results to come.

Thanks CFFB!

Great results!! I’ve been working CF work into our strength & conditioning program this year, though its been a disappointment for the most part. Our kids have been used to sitting around in the weight room & getting in a couple of lifts a day. Something like…bench 8 reps, rest 5 minutes, repeat.

Some kids have taken to the WODs, but very few have the will to really push themselves. It’s working better with the younger kids, so I hope next year gets better. Frustrating to say the least. I guess change can be slow to come.

I’m also battling the football after school program (I coach football, but am not “the guy” for our new head coach). The kids are basically doing a 2 hour body building session–curls, 3-4 types of triceps presses along with the major lifts. 5 days a week, no plyos, no speed work, no agility. UGH!

In any event, great story for your athletes & hopefully ours will see a change if we can get more to buy in!
